General Information

Hi my name is Ian Hunter and I have been married to Pip for 30 years. I have two adult boys in successful careers in Auckland and I am very proud of what they have achieved.

My previous employment was in the Banking Industry for 33 years and from 2009 I worked on contract with NZ Steel at Glenbrook until arriving here in July 2014.

My role assisting Barnie with various tasks at Te Totara Primary School is a wonderful job and reminds me of the good old days when going to work was fun.

I'm a happy friendly guy, so come and say hello when you see me .

My name is Terry, my nieces & nephews call me Uncle Fetu. I am the assistant caretaker to Ian Hunter and I am very humbled to be welcomed so openly into the Te Totara Primary School Whanau and the wider Ministry of Education.

I have had a varied and high profile career. I am a Hospital Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Property Manager, Projects Manager and Maintenance Manager. I run our Whanau Trust owned farm up North and..... I am a Dance Teacher.

But I am a fixer at heart, the small things count to most people and there is nothing more satisfying than being back on tools making a small fix that makes a big improvement to our school and ultimately benefits our children.

I am married to Rachel, we live in Western Heights and we are recently back from 9 very warm days in Maui Hawaii. We have 6 Whangai children, several nieces & nephews, 2 cats, several gas-gobbling cars, a race quad, boat and Harley.

We are ex NZ Latin American Dance Champions and have been teaching Ballroom and Latin Dancing for the past 20 years, we still teach now on Monday and Tuesday nights at the Melville Hall in Hamilton.

So I'm glad to be working with you and all is ka Pa!!!
