Before and After School Care
My name is Anna Herbert and I am the Co-ordinator/Team leader for before and after school care here at Te Totara primary school.
I am a mother to two girls, with youngest attending Te Totara Primary School and my eldest attending RJHS.
I currently have 11 wonderful permanent staff members, which includes Katrina Strong, our supervisor. I also have 5 relief staff who help out as needed.
I aim to make Before and After School Care a safe and happy environment for the children who attend, by offering varied activity, compassionate staff, rules that keep the children safe, and well resourced arts and crafts, sports equipment and games.
Hi my name is Katrina Strong and I joined the team at Before and After School Care in 2012.
I am married to Corey and we have three children, Hanorah, Kaidin and Samantha. Kaidin and Samantha are here at Te Totara Primary and Hanorah attends Fairfield College.
Our aim is to provide a positive place for all the children to have fun and enjoy the time they spend at ASC.
I find it rewarding working with the children at Before and After School Care and I look forward to meeting you.

Hi, my name is Brayden Cook and I have 3 younger brothers Deacon, Kobe and Kingston. I love playing sports, mainly basketball and rugby. I am happy to be part of the after school care team and look forward to working more with everyone.
Hi my name is Amy, and I am a Year 13 at Hamilton Christian School. I have always been passionate about working with children. I enjoy working with the children here at Te Totara Primary School and I also hope to work with children in the future.
Hi my name is Abi and I attend Hamilton Christian School. I am in year 12. I have been working at after school care since the end of 2017 and really enjoy working with all the amazing children and staff here. Some of my hobbies include camping, reading and tramping, but mostly I enjoy any outdoors activity.
Hi, my name is Hannah. I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Design at Wintec. I was a foundation student at Te Totara and used to attend the after school care myself which makes my job now more rewarding as I can ensure the kids enjoy themselves like I used to.
Hi my name is Rainy Hea and I am a mother of four boys, two are twins and go to Te Totara Primary school, my older two boys are currently studying at university.
I previously worked as a carer for physically disabled people and also helped run a café I owned with my husband.
I love working at After School Care and enjoy the fun interactions with the children who attend.

I started working at Te Totara After School Care the last term of 2018. I am currently working towards gaining entry into the police force.
Out of work I throughly enjoy playing cricket & golf.
I have enjoyed working with my fellow After School Care staff members and children. I look forward to continuing that in 2019.
Hi there, my name is Hazel. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Management Studies at the University of Waikato.
I really enjoy my role of working at Te Totara After School Care, as I love working with kids and the other staff members. I found that is such a vibrant and happy place to work, as I always leave energized and with a smile on my face.
My name is Wendy McMillan and this is my 8th year at Te Totara.
I have 3 children, aged 17, 15 and 13.
I love spending time with my family and in my spare time I enjoy running, playing Netball and Touch and spending time at the beach.
Hello, my name is Jaynee and I have been part of the After School Team since the end of February 2017. I really enjoy coming to work each day and spending my afternoons with the children and other staff. Aside from ASC I am also a Part-time Nanny and in 2018 will continue my Studies in Early Childhood Education. In my spare time I enjoy art, photography, and baking.
Hi, my name is Logan. I began working here at the beginning of 2019 and have really enjoyed getting to know the staff and children. I study business at Waikato University and enjoy playing sports in my spare time.
Kia Ora, my name is Maihoha Panapa. I am a student at the University of Waikato, studying a BA in Maori Indigenous Studies. I have been working at Te Totara After School Care since late May. I love working with kids, mostly because the playful character and acts of a child could change the mood of your entire day. I hope to be a Primary School teacher and am currently working on doing my diploma of teaching after I graduate from my BA at the end of this year.
Hey, my name is Rebecca (Becca), I've been working as part of After School Care since early 2019.
I throughly enjoy working with the children here at Te Totara as the children are full of energy and brighten up my day along with the supportive staff.
In my spare time I partake in dog agility, photography, travelling and anything that invloves being outdoors.
Hi, my name is Brayden Simms and I have been a part of After School Care since the end of 2018. I used to go to Te Totara when I was a child, so one of the reasons for me joining After School Care was to make sure that all the kids are looked after as well as I was.
I really enjoy my time as a part of After School Care and it makes me happy to look after future generations of kids.

Hello, my name is Ethan, and I go to Rototuna Senior High School. I was a student at Te Totara Primary School from 2009-2013, so its been nice to come back. My favourite part of my job is making sure that the kids are having fun.
Hi there! My name is Georgia and I am studying at the University of Waikato in a bachelor of science majoring in earth science. I am super lucky to have a job at after school care as it doesn't feel like work because it is so much fun. The kids make everyday interesting and are so full of life. I always leave with a smile on my face!
Hi my name is Hanorah Strong and I have been working at Te Totara before and after school care since 2014. I enjoy interacting with the children and watching their confidence grow as they make new friends and enjoy their time at after school care.

I have 2 sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren, four of which have attended or are attending Te Totara Primary School. I have spent a majority of my working life involved in organisations working with children and teenagers. Parent line and Barnados family support, Literacy and life skills tutor to the Salvation Army just to name a few. I enjoy working at After School Care and spending time with the amazing children we have here.
Hello, my name is Jenny.
I'm currently studying at the University of Waikato, working towards a Bachelor of Management Studies. Aside from Uni, I also take numerous language classes: Te Reo Maori, Spanish and Mandarin which I really like.
In my spare time, I love listening to music, travelling and doing Taekwondo and Muay Thai.
