Earth Team (Year 3/4)
Teacher in Earth 34
Kia Ora Koutou,
My name is Jessica Grimson and it is my privilege to be the teacher of the lovely year three & four children in Earth 34.
This is my fifth year teaching at Te Totara Primary and I am grateful and enjoy teaching within a fantastic school.
I am very passionate about teaching, learning and helping children to become lifelong learners. I encourage a collaborative nurturing environment for children to succeed. I really enjoy their excitement as they discover and learn new things.
When I am not teaching I enjoy every moment with my own family and gorgeous 8 year old boy. I love my photography, the outdoors, especially the beach, kayaking and swimming in summer. I really enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies and gardening.
I look forward to meeting you, so please come and say hi in Earth 34.
Team Leader, Teacher in Earth 35
Hello, my name is Krissy Tantrum. It is a pleasure to be part of the team at Te Totara School. I have taught at Te Totara since 2016, the same year I returned home to the mighty Waikato. I grew up on a dairy farm in Fencourt, just outside of Cambridge.
Outside of school I enjoy playing 'old girls' netball and spending time with my gorgeous boys. As a family, we enjoy a variety of sports and camping at Waihi Beach. My personal passions are, as I joke with my classes, all C's (Coffee, chocolate, clothes, cows and custard squares).
I have been teaching since last century (1999) and priror to joining the very special team at Te Totara all my teaching experience was in East Auckland Schools. I have taught across the primary school levels from Years 1-6.
I believe in the process of being a lifelong learner and feel privileged that I get to share my passion for learning with my students on a daily basis.
I look forward to meeting you. Please feel welcome to pop into Earth 35 to chat. I am excited to work with you and your child and enhance their learning journey.
Teacher in Earth 36
My name is Levi O'Hallahan and I am excited to be continuing my early teaching career with the Te Totara family this year. I have completed a Gaduate Diploma of Teaching and a Bachelor of Sport and Leisure at the University of Waikato.
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. It is my aim as a teacher to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my son and husband. We are a sport orientated family and enjoy being in the outdoors.
Feel free to come in, say hello and have a chat.
Teacher in Earth 37
My name is Brendan Gauld and I have been a member of the Te Totara teaching staff for a number of years. I am looking forward to getting to know my students this year and welcoming whanau to be part of our learning journey. My classroom is full of learning and also full of fun. I look forward to the unique skills and attributes each child will bring to our learning environment.
I was born in England and I am a passionate supporter of my football club, Newscastle United. Being a Newscastle United supporter, I am used to life being a rollercoster of emotions where patience and perseverance have become key attributes.
I am extremely excited for what lies ahead this year and look forward to continuing to be part of the Te Totara family.
Teacher in Earth 38
My name is Natalie Gillies and I am excited to be the teacher of the wonderful Earth 38 children next year.
I have over ten years of teaching experience and have taught at a variety of levels with most of my time working with Year 0-4 students. I began my teaching career in the United Kingdom where I taught at Hathaway Primary School in London. After traveling overseas I returned to New Zealand working at Bankwood Primary School in Hamilton.
I am a passionate, caring teacher and I treasure each child’s unique qualities. I enjoy helping children reach their goals and I work hard to engage students by making the learning fun, meaningful and motivating. I support a collaborative classroom environment and like working in partnership with whanau.
I am married with two school-aged children. As a family we love the outdoors and go camping, to the beach, on bush walks, bike riding and swimming often. I also like reading, art and crafts.
I am a friendly, welcoming teacher so please feel free to come and say hello.
