Kia Ora,

My name is Erin Stewart and I am very excited to be joining the Teaching Staff at Te Totara for 2024!

I was born and raised in Kirikiriroa and I studied a Bachelor of Science before completing my Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching.

I enjoy being active and playing sports, with a particular passion for football. I also enjoy reading and spending time at the beach.

I encourage a collaborative environment for children and believe that relationships are the foundations that help all ākonga succeed.

Please feel free to pop in and say hello.

General Information

This is my eighth year teaching at Te Totara Primary and I am again the Team Leader of the sunny Rā team. I love being part of such a warm and welcoming environment.

I was born in Hamilton but have lived in many different parts of New Zealand and also overseas. For fourteen years I lived in Boston and then New York. Living overseas was such an awesome experience, and one of great personal and professional growth, however it really made me value the New Zealand culture and education system.

I graduated from Waikato University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching. In 2002 I completed a Graduate Diploma of Information Technology in Education through Wintec.

I live in Rototuna with my three children and know all the good coffee spots. In my weekends I like to spend time gardening, camping and walking in our NZ bush.

General Information

Kia Ora Koutou,

My name is Jessica Grimson and it is my privilege to be the teacher of the lovely year three & four children in Ra 33.

This is my sixth year teaching at Te Totara Primary and I am grateful and enjoy teaching within a fantastic school.

I am very passionate about teaching, learning and helping children to become lifelong learners. I encourage a collaborative nurturing environment for children to succeed. I really enjoy their excitement as they discover and learn new things.

When I am not teaching I enjoy every moment with my own family and gorgeous 8 year old boy. I love my photography, the outdoors, especially the beach, kayaking and swimming in summer. I really enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies and gardening.

I look forward to meeting you, so please come and say hi in Earth 34.
