Marama Team (Year 5/6)

Teacher in Marama 12
I am looking forward to commencing my teaching journey here at Te Totara Primary school. I studied a Bachelor of Education at the University of Waikato.
It is important to me that my students feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively and feel that they belong in our class whānau. I value developing my students' growth mindset so that they can push themselves and become the best version that they can be. I am a passionate musician and I value music for its creative expression, ability to connect people and promote health and wellbeing. This is a curriculum area that I endeavor to include within Earth 38.
In my spare time I find myself playing various instruments with friends and family, cooking, looking after my copious house plants and searching for treasures in op shops.
I am excited to meet you all, please feel free to come and have a chat.

Kia ora koutou! Originally from Edgecumbe in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, I moved to Kirikiriroa in 2014. In 2024 I graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Education. I am thrilled to be working alongside the Marama team as the kaiako/teacher for Marama 13. The students have had a wonderful start to the year, and I look forward to supporting Marama 13 for the remainder of the year.
I believe in creating a fun, safe, structured environment for students to learn. I want students to feel safe and supported, and to know that we can have fun together in our learning. I value making space for students to be individuals and to have a voice within the classroom.
In my spare time I enjoy puzzles and doing arts and crafts with my children.

My name is Renee Morgan and I have the privilege of being the Marama Team Leader. I'm so happy to be part of the fun, focussed and hard working teaching and learning team at Te Totara. Our students, staff and whaanau community make Te Totara a fantastic place to be.
I am an experienced teacher and have taught all levels from Year 0-6. As well as being a classroom teacher I have also been a support teacher in the area of Digital Technologies. I’ve completed Postgraduate studies in the area of Digital and Collaborative Learning as well.
In the past I have enjoyed living in London for a few years and teaching while I was there. I loved travelling around Europe, learning about the history and experiencing new cultures. In my spare time I enjoy reading, relaxing outdoors or at the beach, and spending time with my family and friends.
